Why I started Writing?

The Pen is Mightier Than The Sword (--- Edward Bulwer-Lytton)

In this time of Information Age, the ever-expanding scope of social media and the so-called culture of “influencers”, the reach this “internet web” can give is amazing. With no particularity as such, blogging seems to have hit high, and (seems) almost everyone is joining the vogue.

While writing may help generate leads for business, land job opportunities or even be a source of income. Reasons to start may differ, off course! To begin with:

·         Getting words right (err right words maybe?)

First time is almost tough! From feeling deranged to even finding the right statement, even more, putting in the first word, writing can be alien at first. You may be able to converse, express but when it comes to putting it all down on a piece of paper can be hard to start with. But isn’t it “Practice makes you perfect”!? With time, it will ease things, a flow will develop and might as well spring into “your unique style!”

·         New skill: Check

Always striving to add a new skill keeps the mind active, improving adaptability and, foster personal growth (amongst many other benefits!) And, whilst writing may start as a hobby or even ‘cos it is “In” or “Trendy”, but it will definitely expand knowledge, awareness of the surroundings and balancing things in life.

·         Build a brand

Sharing your opinion and thoughts on an area of interest, will not only help you develop expertise over it but even help you garner attention of industry leaders and influencers. Writing can be a launching pad to develop a brand.

·         Unleash

Putting down words on a piece of paper, helps declutter mind and makes thinking much clearer. Sharing thoughts with an audience (albeit through writing) not only makes one “come out of their shell”, but also inspire and motivate others, whilst working through their own emotions!

I started writing to vent my emotions and it feels nice (always)! And came along: My Tryst with Writing

So, while starting may be tough, but reaching the pinnacle may be not!

With ten reasons for not doing it, find one reason that makes it worth!

Happy Blogging!!
